Alex bernhardt —
Soccer Coach
Alex Bernhardt grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, where his passion for soccer took hold through years of competitive play. He went on to play collegiately at the University of St. Thomas in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, while working as a youth skills trainer with Pegasus United. After college, he continued his playing career with FC Denver, making deep runs in the U.S. Open Cup against some of the strongest clubs in the region.
Those experiences shaped Alex’s read on the commitment, adaptability, and mentality it takes to compete at a high level. His coaching philosophy centers on building a competitive environment where players are pushed to challenge themselves, make mistakes, and learn through the process — developing athletes who are technically confident, mentally resilient, and capable of playing multiple positions.
At USA, his mission is straightforward: bring that same competitive edge to the Roaring Fork Valley and push young athletes to embrace competition, enjoy the process, and become the best players they can be. For Alex, development is about more than the field — it’s about building the confidence and mindset to keep pushing.
